hello wedding

Last year I mentioned going on a photo shoot for a lovely wedding in Northern California. Nine months later, it is finally featured in the Spring 2010 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings. I was pleasantly suprised to see that it also landed on the cover!

The wedding was for Hello! Lucky stationery creative director Eunice Moyle, and it was ridiculously beautiful and a bit quirky and seriously fun. One of my favorite elements was the stationery, from the invitations themselves to the labels on the jelly jar favors, every piece was beautiful... and that pepper jelly, amazingly good on biscuits. Eunice also designed a set of playing cards with the motifs from the wedding, such a nice keepsake for each of the lucky guests. You can see more of the stationery suite here. (We had to wake up at 5 AM in order to get this shot of the stationery in the clover before the sun came up over the mountain... but I think it was worth it.)

Eunice and her sister Sabrina were so calm, great examples of grace under pressure. And I loved meeting their sweet father, who I chatted with between shots. He told me how he always read to the girls every night when they were little. "And not kid books either.. real books like Treasure Island." It was after speaking to him that I started reading more chapter books to my kids each night, instead of only picture books. Great advice!

Congrats to Eunice and Daniel..

Gorgeous wedding! Dying over all the details and the fact that you were able to be a part of it. How glorious! I'm so happy for you and for the opportunities you have to "keep your feet wet" in what you used to do even though you are now a "mum". xo

I love the way I feel when I look at the pictures in Martha Stewart magazines; I cannot imagine being there. What a lucky gal you are!

Eunice's wedding looked phenomenal in the magazine with all the special details and handmade touches they added in. I remember talking to Sabrina at the last Stationery Show about how much they loved designing and crafting the wedding together. So much thought put into everything. Fun to hear more of the behind the scenes — the photographs turned out amazing.

My daughter has been dreaming out loud about what she wants her future wedding to look like, and when I opened to this wedding in the magazine I realized it was a picture of her vision. Such a creative and beautiful couple. I wish them well, and I hope we are be able to create something close in beauty for my daughter when it is her day. (And I think the photo of the stationary in the clover is lovely. It was worth the effort!)

Beautiful wedding, and a good reminder to read to my kids. I remember my dad reading to my brother, sister and I when we were little: the Chronicles of Narnia, Tom Sawyer, Swiss Family Robinson. I was always ahead in reading in school, and I think that was why. I think my kids are just old enough to start this. Thanks!

Congratulations on getting a cover! It's a fantastic picture, the coloring is great and the faded mountains in the back are a nice touch.

I'm oddly reminded by the Wedding magazine cover of "I May Be Seymour Glass". Anyway, I hope you had the right flowers for the wedding. I'm writing here since I've taken to your blog posts recently.

Classy, elegant photos. Are those invitation cards on letterpress? I can't see them from the photo. You can never seem to go wrong with doing a Martha.
