the county fair

Is there anything better than the county fair? I get a little excited when it comes to town. The kids loved riding the ferris wheel, visiting the new baby animals, crashing into each other with bumper cars, watching the pig races, and eating corn dogs. And while all that is fun, I go for a different reason...

Classic black and white photo booths, the best I've seen on the West Coast. As you may already know, I love photo booths. It's getting harder and harder to find the old-fashioned dip and dunk kind, they keep getting replaced with those hokey digital photo booths, but these booths at the county fair are the real deal.

We always do a few strips. One or two with all of us, and now that Bee and C are getting old enough, a strip or two all by themselves. I love waiting for the film to slide into the little drying slot and seeing the poses my little ones chose. The strips this year were particularly good! Until next year county fair.. until next year.

Beautiful photos! Photo booths are so timeless and fun. I'm sure your children will really love those memories.

I also wanted to say that you're such an inspiration. So many people splash their kids around the internet and I really love the fact that there's a bit of anonymity to yours. You still find ways to get your point across with beautiful images of them. I plan to do the same if/when I have children of my own.

i recently took my kids to rye playland near us, which has a children's section full of rides that seem to be a throwback to yesterday. it was fun to give my sons the camera to see what they came up with. looking at the photos you get an entirely different perspective! lots of fun!

I'm SO sad that I'm not making it to the OC Fair this year. It's really the highlight of my summer each year. My favorite part of the fair to look at is the row of the photobooths. It's always perfectly lined up and deliciously vintage looking. Sigh. I'll just have to go several times next year!

P.S. I didn't realize you were in Orange County! It seems like so few bloggers are from around here.

I love photobooths! I've done several posts on my blog about photobooths as well. I love that you got a picture of the seat that goes up and down. My kids didn't believe me that they had adjustable seats. I don't think I've seen a dip and dunk kind for years. I thought they were extinct. I'll just have to keep my eyes open!

Oh those shoes, those shoes... please share the details.

I'm getting dizzy just looking at that photo of the the down/up/adjust button.
I'd love to try the photo booth again just for the heck of it.

Where do you buy your shoes? I've noted them in pictures of your children, but apparently they make them in (cute) adult sizes also? Please share. Hicken@gmail.com. Big fan of your blog.

Oh my gosh! I feel like you just wrote my blog post for tomorrow night. (Or really Thursday by the time I get to it) We are going to the fair tomorrow. The kids love it. I love it. And we ALWAYS visit the photo booth. In fact, we are getting our 4th year of family photo booth pics tomorrow and I am going to post all 4. It is so fun to see how the kiddos have changed. And I was thinking this year the boys are old enough to do their own turn in the booth.
See what I mean? It's no wonder I am a big fan of your blog.
I love those photos too.
