this week's library book

We borrowed Harry by the Sea this week, the third book we've read from the series (which includes Harry the Dirty Dog and No Roses for Harry). We love them all.

As I've said before, we love the library. And now that I've moved back to the town I grew up in, I love the idea that these very books may have been the ones I checked out as a little girl. I keep looking for clues..

I had forgotten all about this book! I loved this story as a child. Now I need to go find a copy to share with my little chickens. Thanks for this post and the fond memory it brought back.

when i was younger, i would take the harry the dirty dog out of the library so much, and always return it way past the due date that we got banned from the library! my husband bought me a copy our first christmas together. my son henry really loves it now too.

i love your blog, it's so simple and beautiful. i just moved back to the town i grew up in too. and my daughter now goes to the same library and attends the same preschool i did as a child. it is fun to think that the places i remember as a child are the places she will remember too.

Aw, what a welcome visit to Memory Lane! I looooooved Harry the Dirty Dog when I was little! Anything with dogs or roses or whimsical art was my favorite. Does anyone remember Flat Stanley?

I hold a special place in my heart for Harry. Funny, I would sit in my room for what seemed like hours (though it was probably 20 minutes) reading thru Harry books as a kid. I recently borrowed the audiobook of No Roses for Harry from the library and my girls and I listened to it in the car. The perfect diversion when things got a little wild!
