It's nice to be able to get to know a museum, so that you miss certain corners of it when you are gone. One of my favorite surprises in
the Met is around the corner from the Temple of Dendur. Jefferson Burdick donated his baseball card collection to the museum back in the '40s and '50s. Beautiful, aren't they?

(Linked to your blog from Design Mom) I read all the way down to your first entry (?) on inch marks... I have three daughters and we did the same thing to a piece of molding around a door that led to the laundry room. Over the years, height marks were made on a monthly or bi-monthly basis, One time it was even a year to year basis when our schedules were crazy. Our middle daughter's mark surpass her older sister's marking, a boyfriend's height was added well above everyone's, and a girlfriend's well below! Seems like the summers held the largest growth. My husband died unexpectedly three years ago, and to "make me feel better" a decorator friend of mine had my kitchen and laundry room painted as a surprise. Yes, she had them paint over our precious molding. Wish I had done what you did with your children... I'll pass on the idea to my daughters for their children, future children that is! Thanks so much.
I have just spent the afternoon looking through your beautiful blog. Your photos, stories and shared ideas are such a treat. Thank you for sharing.
