envelopes

I am a huge fan of envelope security patterns.. I know I'm not alone in this (there's a lovely collection here). I love how they are never quite perfect, like they've been xeroxed on an old copy machine. I've been cutting all our envelopes down to little squares, perfect for little notes (good thing we pay most of our bills online!).

I am collecting these for an eventual project. At work as I'm sealing envelopes from accounts payable, if I notice there is a new pattern I'll switch it into one of our privacy envelopes so I can add it to my collection!

This is so pretty! You have such a good eye for details - I never would have noticed these.

Love the colours and patterns. There is so much beauty in the everyday stuff, especially when collected and displayed together.

Still wondering if you'd mind posting or emailing how you achieved the simple, fresh look with the tape on your posted images. :)

So cute! I love all the different blues!!

It's fun to notice the little details like this - I probably wouldn't have otherwise. Cute way to reuse some of that junk mail.

I have a whole collection of these as well! I can't wait to find the *perfect* project for these patterns!

Oh yes, I love these too. I’ve always thought a line of fabrics based on these patterns would be excellent and have toyed with the idea of screening my own. As long as you’re cutting them up into little pieces, you should make notepads with them.

Heather... I've had the same thought myself!

I love your collection! A while ago I saw a photo in a UK decorating magazine where someone had cut out squares of each pattern and attached them in a grid directly to their wall. It inspired me and I've been collecting them ever since. One day I'll get around to making my own wall display!
